Plant Area Assistant - Part Time / Seasonal - Radway Bridge Garden Centre

We currently have a vacancy for a Part-time /Seasonal - Plant Area Assistant

The role is part-time (minimum 16 hours) and will require weekend work.

Working days initially to be Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays starting end of February 

The role is also seasonal however it has the opportunity to be a full-time role for the right candidate.

 

The job will entail a variety of day to day tasks including but not limited to:

- Polytunnel work; potting up nursery plants grown here on site.

- Merchandising and stock replenishment.

- Unloading incoming deliveries use of ePos scanner to receive the plants.

- Dealing with customer orders.

- Working outdoors all the year round in all weathers.

- Dealing with customer enquires and customer service with sales.

- Job will require heavy lifting and moving at times and is very hands-on and physical.

 

Skills:

Must be flexible during the week, will be required to work weekends.

Previous experience would be preferred , however training can be given.

Must be able to work well within a team, and be confident completing tasks independently.

Good customer service and keen to learn and improve product knowledge.

Good organisational skills.

Must be approachable with a friendly attitude.

 

Preferences:

- Clean driver’s license.

- Plant knowledge an advantage.

- Previous retail experience is preferred.

- Ability to lift heavy items such as compost bags.

- Computer skills are a bonus as they may be occasionally needed.

- Forklift License an advantage
