Cyclamen are particularly good for refreshing containers that have reached the end of their summer best. Their compact habit makes them ideal for pots, window boxes and doorstep displays, either planted on their own or combined with other seasonal favourites.
Try pairing them with heucheras, ivies, ferns and other autumn foliage plants for a display with plenty of colour, texture and interest.
They also work beautifully planted into autumn baskets, where their flowers can provide a welcome splash of colour through the cooler weeks ahead.
Caring for your cyclamen
Cyclamen prefer cooler conditions and a bright position away from strong, direct sunlight. Keep the compost moist but avoid overwatering or allowing plants to sit in water.
When watering, aim for the compost rather than pouring water directly into the centre of the plant. Removing spent flowers and yellowing leaves will also help keep your cyclamen looking at their best and encourage continued flowering.
